I'll take a sequel gladly, but I very much doubt it happens. Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 (PS3, Vita): Both of these games were really great in their world building and establishing their setting. I went through the games going to most of the NPCs and loved how some have their own story arcs and such. The combat system is engaging and the soundtrack is so great. I'd say I preferred CS2 over 1, but both were worth it and definitely are some of the best games I have played in a while. Shin Megami Tensei IV & Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse (3DS): Just finished Apocalypse yesterday and man, this game is just a great improvement of SMT IV, a great game as well. Apocalypse is a sequel of SMT IV and it just ramps up the difficulty slightly, tweaks the already awesome battle system to make it even better, a better map, and, while using areas from SMT IV, the areas didn't feel that old to me.

The soundtrack is great in both games and they are just hardcore JRPGs that have this classic yet modern feel to them. Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U): A great experience overall with the vast and interesting locales and areas. The exploration is just so good and the best part of the game. Can't hardly wait for Monolith Soft's next title of the Switch! A disappointment for me in its story mainly since I loved Xenoblade Chronicles so much when I played it on the Wii. Pokemon Sun & Moon (3DS): I was getting tired of Pokemon after X and Y disappointed me, but this game got my attention. Great soundtrack and I liked how they deviated from the formula of Gym Battles a little and tried to spice things up. Story was surprisingly good to me, close to Black and White, my favorite Pokemon games. Stella Glow (3DS): This was a strategy RPG that took me by surprise. Great story, good cast of characters, awesome soundtrack. Loved it.įire Emblem Fates (3DS): I liked that we got three varied yet similar FE games in one package with Birthright being my favorite storywise (all storywise suck though) with gameplay going to Conquest hands down. The gameplay on all three versions was a step up from Awakening as far as difficulty goes (excluding Phoenix Mode) and all three had an amazing soundtrack. Too bad the story still has to suck so bad and make the game less great in my opinion. Games I Haven't Beaten Yet I Want To Mention:įavorite JRPG: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii/Wii U/3DS) That doesn't mean it's a bad game completely and I still recommend people check it out that like SRPGs. Its the Anime love child of MGSV, and Mass Effect set in Jurassic Park.
